KATHY HIRKALA, RN, BSN, CFCE
 
Kathy has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from West Liberty State College in West Liberty, WV and has worked as a registered nurse in various medical centers in West Virginia. She received her thirteen month training as a FertilityCare™ Practitioner through the Education Program of the FertilityCare™ Center of Charleston, WV. She has been teaching the Creighton FertilityCare™ System to women and couples in the Tri-State area since 2002 and completed her training as a Practitioner in 2003. She founded and is director of the FertilityCare™ Center of the Upper Ohio Valley, Inc. featuring NaProTechnology®, a non-profit organization in Weirton, WV.
 
Kathy received her certification as a Practitioner from the American Academy of FertiltiyCare™ Professionals in October 2005. At that same time she was accepted by Dr. Thomas Hilgers into the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ Educator Program. She completed this thirteen month program with high honors.
 
In November 2007, Kathy established and is Program Director of the FertilityCare™ Center of the Upper Ohio Valley, Inc. Practitioner Education Program in West Virginia. She also serves as faculty for the Pope Paul VI Institute Education Program in Omaha, Nebraska and other Education Programs around the country.
 
She is an active member of the American Academy of FertiltiyCare™ Professionals. She served as co-chairman of the Academy’s Continuing Education Committee from 2006-2009. She currently serves on the Commission for Certification and the Third Party Reimbursement Committee. She was honored by the Academy as the 2008 Outstanding FertilityCare™ Practitioner.
 
In January 2013, Kathy was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of FertilityCare™ Centers of America.
 
She is also a past member of the planning board of the Tri-State FertilityCare™ Centers Seminar.
 
Kathy has been an active member of her Catholic community's pro-life group and in October 2004 was recognized for that pro-life work by the West Virginians for Life.
 
She has been married to her husband Tom for over 29 years. They live in Weirton, WV.
